Marietta Arme Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
94/100 Points, Robert Parker Jr.
We met and fell in love with this Marietta Arme Cabernet Sauvignon. It is beautifully balanced, with lovely dark fruit and the perfect amount of earthiness and body. We liked it so much we roasted a chicken stuffed with mushrooms and garlic over shallots and feasted on that with assorted salt-and-pepper roasted vegetables. The Marietta Arme was a spectacular pairing. We're imagining it with duck sausage over a warm lentil salad or grilled rib lamb chops with garlic mashed potatoes too.
Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Armé Cabernet Sauvignon is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 7% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Medium ruby-purple, it has pure, classic aromas of cassis, graphite, violets, loamy earth and tobacco. The intensely flavored palate is light on its feet with loads of juicy lift and a soft tannic frame, and it finishes long and floral. It's an incredibly elegant style, particularly at this price point! Drink date: 2021-2030." Jun 2021
Winery: "The Estate Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our vineyards in Alexander Valley and McDowell Valley. These grapes yielded deep, intense wine that conveys a taut freshness with great aromatic purity. Balanced between modern California and Old World, this wine is dense with buckets of black currant and cherry that are tempered with a dusty herbaceous quality. Built to age and best with food."
