A drop-dead value!  We have the Mas Donís Barrica Old Vines 2012 Red from Spain. Mr. Dunnuck gushes about it, and at this price, you should buy it by the truckload. It's ready to drink now, and we're having trouble coming up with food it wouldn't go with... This lovely Spanish rojo won't let you down whether you're grilling, roasting, pan-searing or braising. Wake up everyone's taste buds with shooters of French onion soup topped with a buttery, melted Gruyere-draped crouton. Grilled chorizo coins will wow the palate opposite the heady fruit of the wine. Braised lamb shanks with garlic and white beans will show off the earthy side of this Mas Donis, as will roast venison with tapenade. If meat isn't on the menu, we highly recommend a wild mushroom risotto. It will go beautifully with the wine's velvety, voluptuous texture. Open another bottle or two, and bring out a room temperature French Brie and some crusty, artisanal bread. ¿Cuándo comemos winelovers??!

Jeb Dunnuck: "The finest vintage of this cuvée to date, the 2016 Mas Donis Old Vines is 85% Garnacha and 15% Syrah (the Grenache comes from a single parcel called Donis) that was 70% destemmed and aged primarily in concrete. Tasting like a top Priorat with its beautiful blue fruits, violets, ground pepper, rose petals, and ample minerality, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, remarkable purity of fruit, and a great, great finish. Almost too good to be true, just pretend you paid more. Drink up. (2019-2021)." Apr 2019

Winery:  "Food pairing: Lamb, chicken, pork, sausage, pizza, pasta; rice, vegetable (mussaka, ratatouille), cheese."
