Muriel Fincas de la Villa Reserva Rioja 2016
James Suckling: "A perfumed nose of dark cherry, plum, coconut, cedar and dried thyme. Full-bodied with chewy tannins. Rich and structured with a chalky texture and a firm, delicious finish. Better from 2022." Oct 2021
Winery: "The wine has a characteristic ruby color with an orange rim which corresponds to its aging. Very intense, clean aromas with the usual notes found in quality wines with a few years of aging. We find notes of leather, dry leaves, vanilla, coffee, pepper and other spices as well as good quality ripe fruit. It is silky and very pleasant on the palate maintaining some of its original freshness. Overall it is delicious and long-lasting.
All of these elements turn Muriel Fincas de la Villa Gran Reserva into a great accompaniment for meat stews and roast dishes (lamb and beef, particularly). It pairs extremely well with cured cheeses and, surprise, dark and intense chocolate desserts."
