Wine Spectator: "Sweet cherry and strawberry fruit is framed by earth, eucalyptus, tobacco and tar notes in this rich yet firm red. The assertive tannins suggest a glacial evolution but the lasting impression of fruit shows this wine's potential. Best from 2022 through 2040. 815 cases made." Mar 2019 (Advance)
Winery: "Elegant, ample, very fine fruity notes, pomegranate, cherry, spices, rich, soft, warm, velvety, ripe tannins, long and persistent on the palate. Food pairing: elaborate meat dishes, veal, lamb, aged Piedmontese cheeses.
Historically this was the only place with Nebbiolo in the South of Neive. The soil here is very compact with respect to the rest of the hill. Is the highest and sunniest part of the hill. That is summarised by the Sorì name, from the local dialect. In 1893 we named our first Barbaresco out of the Nebbiolo from this plot. Dark, mysterious and inviting; all about allure."
