Domaine Pelle Menetou-Salon Morogues Rouge 2018
Our new favorite French red that won't break the bank but may steal your heart is this Domaine Pelle Menetou-Salon Morogues Rouge. It's a vibrant, delicious wine that's bursting with personality and flavor. The smooth tannins make it especially suited to grilled meats on the lighter side, or salmon. Try a glass all by itself to start, so that you can get acquainted. Then try it with grilled salmon topped with a sweet chili sauce over jasmine sesame rice with black garlic. Crisp-roasted chicken with a crimini gravy will do nicely as well, as will duck leg confit with a cherry compote will. Time to preheat those grills and ovens winelovers!
Wine Enthusiast: "This succulent, juicy wine has ripe cherry flavors, generous tannins and freshness all at the same time. Acidity and fruitiness hold the wine together and promise aging. Drink from 2021.” Dec 2020
Winery: "Fruit and freshness with a light tannin note. The terroir of the village of Morogues combined with hard work provides us with this beautiful example of a Pinot. The complexity is definitely there, thanks to the blending of grapes grown on 3 areas situated on Kimmeridgian and hard limestone. A beautiful wine that sometimes needs to be aged for a while, but the pleasure is always there."
