98pts James Suckling
We do love this San Filippo Le Lucere Brunello di Montalcino, especially because it's from San Filippo, situated in the east of Montalcino, where the most elegant and best aging wines of the entire Brunello district are produced.

James Suckling: "Lots of smoke, ash and dried-flower aromas to the ripe fruit and richness that follow through to a full body, intense and richly ripe tannins and a long, flavorful finish. A wine with lots of tannins and fruit to age for a long time. Try in 2021." Feb 2019

Wine Spectator:  "As much savory as fruity, this offers a fine balance between cherry, leather, spice and carob aromas and flavors. Rich yet lively, leaving a mouthwatering impression on the long, saline aftertaste. Best from 2020 through 2035. 1,000 cases made." Jun 2018

Antonio Galloni's Vinous: "Bright red. Perfumed aromas and flavors of pink flowers, sour red cherry and strawberry. Fresh and juicy but also dense and deep, this boasts captivating sugar-acid-tannin balance. Finishes long and perfumed; despite its sneaky concentration and size, it also has a light-on-its-feet quality that is very typical of this wine. Drink date: 2023 - 2037."

Winery:  "The colour is ruby red with reflexes verging on garnet. The perfume is intense, fine and elegant, with notes of cherries preserved in alcohol, enriched with spices redolent of cinnamon and cloves. On the palate it explodes in all its fineness and elegance thanks to the dense and silky tannins. Excellent body that renders the flavour harmonious and persistent. Excellent nose-mouth correspondence."
