Santa Barbara Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Tossed crunchy gem lettuce and fresh herbs dressed with a fresh tomato vinaigrette is just the thing for your first crisp, aromatic glass. Follow that with crab cake sliders topped with pineapple kiwi salsa or garlic prawns over steamed jasmine rice, sprinkled with black beans and fresh basil leaves. Either choice will leave you with a spring in your step. Fill those glasses again and offer a room temperature Chabichou de Poitou goat cheese with baguette slices, dried apples and toasted walnuts. You'll be glad you did.
Wine Enthusiast: "Toasted apples and rainy cement aromas are kicked up by citrus peel on the nose of this zesty wine. High-toned flavors of lime peel and more gravel-like minerality show on the zippy, refreshing sip." Apr 2020
Winery: "Bruce McGuire selects his favorite lots between four different vineyards to create the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc. Bruce looks towards the Eastern edge of the Santa Ynez Valley, and its warmer weather, to create this aromatic wine from 85% Musque clone. The time spent in neutral oaks adds texture and body to the bright crisp fruit.
The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc shines pale straw. Aromas of granny smith apple and honeysuckle jump out of the glass. Fully ripe lemon and pineapple overlap well-developed minerality. Light and crisp - drink alongside white fish, mixed green salads, and mild vinaigrettes."
