Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2018: An appealing, balanced blend of 45% Grenache Blanc, 30% Clairette, 20% Bourboulenc and 5% Roussanne, the 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc offers up hints of tangerine and lime on the nose. Those mixed citrus notes continue on the medium-bodied palate, gaining focus and finishing crisp and zesty.
Domaine du Vieux Lazaret Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2017: A blend of 67% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre and 6% other authorized varieties, the 2017 Châteauneuf du Pape offers tight, restrained aromas of red berries and cherries, plus hints of leather, earth and dried spices. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate yet rather ungenerous, marked by tart acids on the lean finish.
Chateau du Trignon Cotes-du-Rhone 2018: Trignon features a tight, medium-bodied feel on the palate to go along with tart cherry and even cranberry fruit. With a few minutes in the glass, it begins to round out a bit, but stays mouthwatering on the silky-textured finish.
