92pts James Suckling
The Tolentino Winemakers Selection Mendoza Malbec is juicy and fruity, with gentle tannins and some wonderful earthiness to balance the flavor profile. Lean beef, lamb, pork, sausages, tomato sauces and so much more will pair beautifully with this tasty red. At this price, set out at least two bottles for the meal, and get the ball rolling with a terrine of chicken liver pate (made with Madeira), some brandied fruit, and a crusty peasant bread. Is your mouth watering yet?? After that, how about spaghettie and Nona's gravy with meatballs and sausage? If it's a casual meal, don't skimp on the flavors, and make some paninis with grilled chorizo, arugula, Manchego and whole grain mustard. Talk about delicious. Or, veal milanesa. It is an unofficial Argentine favorite. Try serving it with cheesy, baked polenta. Let it cool and cut into squares and then grill. That's all. Let's eat!

James Suckling:
"Impressive poise and complexity with subtly spicy oak, nuanced into ripe red berries and cherries. Super rich and deeply juicy dark-plum flavors build into a smooth, fleshy and sleek finish. Delivers and balances well. Drink or hold." Mar 2019

Winery: "The Tolentino Winemaker's Selection Malbec has a dark violet color with dense black-fruit aromatics and some mocha character in the nose. It also has very soft and silky tannins, a natural balance, nice concentration and a distinctive smooth lengthy finish.

Food Pairings: red meats such as roast beef, steak and prime rib. It also goes well with turkey and roast chicken. Mexican, Cajun, Italian and Indian foods, especially those with rich tomato sauces.

For over a century, our past generations have produced grapes and wines of quality and authenticity from the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Selected from small lots in our high altitude vineyards, the grapes for this wine showcase dense, concentrated black fruit aromas and flavors."
