93pts Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate
Mr. Parker's Wine Advocate gave this Trabun Syrah high marks and we gave it a price that's wallet-friendly. Winemaker Sergio Avendaño travelled the world honing his winemaking skills, and we are all the beneficiaries. This jammy, smoky, well-balanced Trabun will fit right in with all of your summer grilling activities. We're thinking burgers, ribs, smoked pork chops, chorizo, lamb chops... How does that sound winelovers??

Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate:  "The 2013 Syrah is a worthy follow up to the 2012, a pure Syrah from Requinoa in Cachapoal, which fermented traditionally with a total maceration of 30 days and matured in used French oak barrels for some 18 months. 2013 was a complicated vintage; there was a lot of odium and people had to work hard in the vineyard. The wine needed more time in barrel to get polished. The nose is very Syrah, with nicely integrated oak and a dominance of the classical smoked bacon, violets and tapenade aromas complemented by an earthy touch. The palate is medium to full-bodied, there are no corrections here, and the acidity is always what is obtained naturally. The tannins are fine. I think this is still very young and should evolve nicely in bottle. A Cachapoal Syrah with a Rhône accent. Drink 2016-2020.5,756 bottles produced." Dec 2015

Winery: "Violet with ruby nuances. Red current on the nose; leather, coffee and tobacco. Light mouthfeel with soft and elegant tannins, good acidity, long finish."

Trade Notes: "Full bodied, yet exceptionally balanced. The long finish, lifted acidity and balance make it a very enjoyable experience. An ode to classic Rhone Syrah. It features big, chewy tannins, cassis and grilled meat. This is perfectly suited for sophisticated dishes as well as a summer BBQ."
