"Built in the 17th century, Chateau Loudenne is one of the oldest Crus Bourgeois properties in the Medoc. The value of this location was evident 400 years ago, and remains equally so today. " ~ Wired For Wine

Built in the 17th century, Chateau Loudenne is one of the oldest Crus Bourgeois properties in the Medoc. The value of this location was evident 400 years ago, and remains equally so today. We managed to score some of their Chateau Loudenne Bordeaux Blanc, and are the sole purveyor on the web in this country. We think you'll like it. For a light summer meal, pour a glass and serve up a classic Salade Nicoise. Not a common starter, but delicious with the brightness of this Loudenne, is rabbit raviolis with a mustard cream. Pan-roasted skin-on chicken with lemon herb butter will delight too, as will seared scallops over a warm Tuscan bean salad with fennel. Bon Apetit winelovers!!

Winery:  "The nose is fresh with citrus and exotic fruit notes. In the mouth, the attack is fresh with good volumes. The wine expresses citrus and grapefruit flavors.

As often quoted in the Médoc, “There is no great vineyard which cannot see the river.” Located west of the river Gironde, Château Loudenne stretches over a superb estate of 154 planted acres, and is one of the few châteaux that can boast a waterfront view of the Gironde. The Loudenne vineyard has an ideal location. Its gravel-based soil descends along a soft slope toward the Gironde estuary, which functions like a mirror. Loudenne also benefits from ocean breezes that create a favorable microclimate for the maturation of the grape: the flavor is concentrated through evaporation and mild humidity. The soil is predominantly clay and limestone."
