Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) hails from a Burgundy vineyard purchased 786 years ago by the Abby of Saint Vivant. Today, DRC makes wine from a list of Grand Cru vineyards that make your heart skip a beat: Le Montrachet, Corton, Échezeaux, Grands-Échezeaux, Romanée-St.-Vivant, Richebourg and its monopoles, La Tâche and Romanée-Conti.
The oak that DRC uses is 100% new and comes from their private supply in the Troncais forest. There is no filtration. Only gravity is used in racking, assemblage, and bottling; the wine is never pumped. If the wines need to be fined, only fresh eggs are used. Supporting its hallmark concentration, yields are kept very low.
The end result is that each of Romanée-Conti wine is the gold standard for their respective appellation and the very essence of terroir.
