Situated in the ancient village of Correns, the heart of Provence, Miraval is the magnificent château owned by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Surrounded by exclusive valley locations and exceptional terroir, this rosé is the result of a collaboration between the Jolie Pitts and la famille Perrin.
A complex, flavoursome blend of cinsault, grenache, syrah and rolle, it's bursting with notes of raspberry, wild strawberries, citrus with an expertly crafted balance of perky acidity and subtle minerality that makes it super food friendly. Enjoy your first glass with an aged French chèvre cheese and toasted baguette slices. Lump crab cakes with a peach salsa would be a fine next step. Chop up a smudge of mint for that salsa to make it extra interesting. Hankering for some southern fare? How about shrimp po boys? Make sure there are plenty of chopped cornichons in the remoulade sauce. Or, the wonderful acidity in this Miraval is perfect for buttermilk fried chicken. Have some potato salad on the side with fresh corn. After that, another glass and maybe a warm summer peach cobbler with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream... Sounds good to us.
Wine Enthusiast: "There is an attractive richness to this wine produced by the Perrin family of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wine is full of ripe red berries mingling with spice and citrus. With a fresh, crisp and textured aftertaste, it is ready to drink. Editors' Choice."
Winery: "Pretty pale color, petal pink, elegant with shiny reflections. This wine presents a very beautiful and intense aromatic expression of fresh fruit and spring flowers. In the mouth, the acidity is refreshing; a great elegance and a nice balance dominate, with a saline finish."
