One of our favorite Napa wineries, Grgich has done it again and delivered a deep, dark, delicious Cabernet that's ready to drink and chomping at the bit for food pairings. The tannins are already beautifully integrated, so you just have to decide if you'd like to show off the rich fruit or the subtle baking spice in the glass. This Napa Cab is perfect for a classic boeuf bourguignon, a rich, meaty stew, over roasted potatoes, toasted orzo or egg noodles. We're just going to stop there because we can't think of anything better right now. You have time to decide; this wine will age wonderfully for 10-15 years.
Winery: "Deep red in the glass, this sultry wine shows dark berry fruit on the nose followed by black currant, plum, with an undertone of lavender and allspice. Rich and velvety on the palate, this Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits full and smooth tannins, yet maintains a youthfulness. Plum and pluot re-emerge on the palate carried by undertones of rhubarb and hints of nutmeg. Great aging potential.
The string of near perfect vintages continued for the fifth year in 2016, with an early bud break and flowering followed by sunny days and relatively mild temperatures throughout the growing season. We were able to have almost all our grapes safely in the cellar before the valley's first significant fall rainstorm arrived on October fourteenth.
