Bodegas Borsao Tres Picos 2018
90/100 Points, James Suckling
Once again, Bodegas Borsao delivers phenomenal quality for the price. Their Bodegas Borsao Tres Picos Garnacha has it all: intense dark fruit, gentle tannins, a hint of smoky minerality, and spice and floral notes. Whether you're firing up your grill, stove or oven, you can't go wrong with this medium-to-full-bodied, versatile Grenache. It pairs well with everything from beef and lamb to pork, chicken, turkey and more... Our advice: buy it by the case. ¿Qué estás esperanto winelovers?!
Robert Parker, Jr.'s Wine Advocate: "Some of the best value Garnachas from Spain and the world are found here."
Antonio Galloni's Vinous: "Bright violet. Oak-spiced dark berries, licorice and mocha on the nose; a smoky nuance emerges with air. Broad, sweet and well-concentrated, offering cherry-vanilla, cola and blackberry flavors that show no rough edges. Closes with repeating oak-spice character and strong tenacity and supple tannins lending grip. There's a lot of oak here but there's plenty of fruit as well. Drinking window: 2022-2027." Feb 2021
James Suckling: "A lightly jammy garnacha, offering plenty of fruit with some chocolate. It’s full-bodied with some firmness. Nicely layered with a lightly smoky undertone. Drink now." Mar 2021
Winery: "Very intense cherry red colour with tones of purple. Presents in the nose a great concentration of aromas of ripe red fruit with oral nuances. In the mouth it is a well structured rich wine that evokes tastes of blackberry, plum and tones of leather and vanilla, with a soft and silky tannin."
